SAFEGUARDING
WJM Social Care Ltd takes concerns about abuse, neglect, exploitation and improper treatment seriously.
People receiving support should feel safe, be treated with dignity and respect, and know how to speak up if something does not feel right.
If someone is in immediate danger, or a serious crime or medical emergency is occurring, call the emergency services immediately: 999.
If you are worried about your own safety or the safety of someone receiving support, you can speak to any WJM staff member.
Concerns will be taken seriously and considered under WJM's safeguarding procedures.
Where appropriate, concerns may need to be shared with relevant safeguarding authorities or other professionals in order to protect the person.

A concern may arise because of something a person says, something someone observes, an unexplained change, an incident or information received from another person.
Concerns about a person being harmed, mistreated or subjected to abusive behaviour.
Concerns that a person's essential care, safety or support needs are not being met.
Concerns that someone may be taking advantage of a person or placing them at risk.
Concerns about treatment that does not respect a person's rights, dignity, safety or wellbeing.
People should be listened to and taken seriously when they raise concerns about their safety.
Immediate safety and wellbeing are considered when a safeguarding concern is identified.
Concerns are recorded and shared with appropriate safeguarding authorities where required.
Safeguarding incidents and concerns are reviewed so that learning can inform safer practice.
WJM encourages people receiving support, relatives, representatives, staff and professionals to raise concerns where they believe someone may be unsafe or at risk of harm.
A safeguarding concern can be raised even where all of the facts are not yet known. The important thing is to report genuine concerns so they can be considered appropriately.
